MPD Learning Day

Today was spent in the MPD yard classroom learning about all manner of things for MIC2, this is required to gain access to the footplate, the course covered basic shunting signals, coupling & un-coupling, signals and basic track safety.

Practicing coupling and un-coupling

Being taught how to couple and un-coupleThe day incorporated a PTS (Personal Track Safety) exam which you need to pass to be able to go on the live line without supervision.

Both exams were taken at the end of the day and the outcome will be determined over the coming days once the test papers are marked by an assessor.

I was also issued with my own copy of the rule book, a professional printed, bound and provided in a folder to prevent grubbiness.
